After another seven gruelling stages today, Molly Taylor has finished day two of the Capital Rally of Canberra in an incredible ninth place.
The 18 year-old has shown many of her more experienced rivals the potential she has for the future, bringing her Mitsubishi Mirage home to the service inside the top ten. It is an incredible performance for just her third Australian Rally Championship event, especially as Molly's nimble Mirage, which is entered in the F16 class, is up against the likes of the much more powerful Toyotas and Fords of the factory-backed teams.
The focus for the team today was to get the car home in one piece, as Canberra is known for its rough and rocky roads. "We really weren't expecting to finish so high up the order today. Our main aim was to get the car home without breaking it!", Molly said.
Molly, and co-driver Dale Moscatt, return to the forests tomorrow to complete another eight stages of this year's Capital Rally of Canberra.
