With a successful run in today's Heat 1 of the Great Lakes Rally at Forster (NSW), Molly Taylor has clinched the F16 Championship in this year's NEC Australian Rally Championship.  Molly, and co-driver Dale Moscatt, needed only to complete today's heat to gain the 40 points required to secure the Championship, and they did just that with another fine performance.

Heat 1 was shortened to just seven stages today after communication problems caused the cancellation of the day's final two stages, however Molly was extremely happy with the performance of her Mitsubishi Mirage on the stages completed.
"We had a flat tyre on the second stage of the day, but as it was only a short stage of just over 4km, we were able to continue without changing it," Molly said. "Then on SS4, I overshot a junction and nudged the bank, losing about 15 seconds, however there was no damage to the car, which was good!"
"I really enjoyed the tight and twisty roads on SS3 - they were heaps of fun but the little Mirage did struggle a bit on the uphill sections!" she quipped.
"The car ran brilliantly again today, and it is a great weight off my shoulders knowing we have clinched the F16 Cup."
Molly and Dale finished the day in 17th outright and will resume the battle tomorrow in Heat 2 of the Great Lakes Rally.
