Molly recently had the chance to test her skills as a circuit racer at Sydney’s Eastern Creek Raceway.
After being approached by Jim Hunter, (from ‘Jim Hunter Suspension’), she was invited to attend a test day in one of the team’s Subarus. Jim is running a three car team in the Bathurst 12 Hour race in February.
Having not had a lot of tarmac experience, Molly said, “I didn’t really know what to expect, but I actually had a really great time. After a few sessions I was very comfortable in the car and my times were showing that. I think it all went well, because I got asked back!!”
Molly now needs to get the appropriate circuit racing licences in time in order to participate in the race.
“I am really pushing to do it as I think it would be a fantastic opportunity and a great experience for me,” she added.
Jim Hunter was extremely pleased with Molly’s performance on the test day. In a post-test report he told her, “Your driving skill and car speed is undoubted, however your main attribute as a race driver is your willingness to listen and learn. Your steady improvement was excellent and your sympathy for the car was great. I have no hesitation in you driving for my team.”
