Molly's Blog - January 2010 |
It has been great to spend a few weeks at home and wonderful to catch up with my friends and family. I can’t believe how quickly the time has passed and now I’m back off to the UK. On one hand I’m really keen to get the year underway, on the other hand I’m contemplating leaving the Australian summer and heading into a UK winter which has been one of their coldest in many years. A friend emailed me a photo of my car which was left sitting in the driveway and it was buried under the snow! I wonder if it will start?
I have spent the majority of my time at home working on my 2010 rally plans, predominantly trying to source sponsorship and I am very excited to have both the Australian Motor Sport Foundation and Virtual Display Group back on board.

Congratulations on your results last year. It must have been a great feeling to win your first two events of the year.
Thank you. Yes it was! It was really a jump into the unknown for me so to come out on top was a great feeling and very encouraging.
Apart from the larger fields and the number of different Series’ running as part of the British Rally Championship, how do the BRC events differ from the Australian Rally Championship?
I guess the main difference is the fact that 50% of the Championship is run on tarmac. Additionally, they have such an incredible depth of field, particularly for 2WD cars. On top of that there are three ‘one–make’ series running within the Championship which gives young drivers a real ‘stepping stone’ system to progress through.

Molly is Rallying Up Support |
Following a successful debut year in the British Rally Championship, Australian Molly Taylor is continuing her assault in 2010. This time she will be moving up to the Citroen Racing Trophy, a one-make series running within the British Rally Championship.
“2010 will be the first year in my five year plan to reach the world stage and I am really looking forward to the challenge. I am very excited to also have the continued support from the Australian Motor Sport Foundation and Virtual Display Group,” the 21 year old said.
Like any form of motor sport, budget is always the pivotal factor in putting the season together. To raise the remaining funds required, Molly has started a Supporters Group.
